BIOTRANSFORM was presented at the “V Circular Economy talks: The industry sector towards circularity”

On September 25th, from 10:00 to 12:00, FUNSEAM (Fundación para la Sostenibilidad Energética y Ambiental) hosted an online event focused on the need for the industrial sector to embrace circular economy principles. The session featured key insights from leading organisations dedicated to sustainability and innovation.

The event began with a welcome address from FUNSEAM, followed by a keynote session led by representatives from Fundación COTEC. They highlighted the critical importance of rethinking production cycles and processes in the industry to foster sustainable practices. A panel discussion included contributions from various organizations involved in innovative business initiatives, such as CTA (Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía), Tecnalia, and Repsol. The panelists discussed how new technologies offer vast opportunities to enhance product life cycles, improve efficiency, and promote responsible consumption.

BIOTRANSFORM was mentioned in the CTA presentation as a key project supporting the transition from fossil-based linear economies to circular bio-based economies.

The event underscored the significance of developing basic competencies in circular design among companies. By adopting circular principles, businesses can facilitate the reuse, recycling, and cascading use of materials throughout the production process. This collaborative effort is essential for aligning with a circular economy, ensuring long-term environmental and economic benefits. The session concluded with a public Q&A, allowing for further engagement and discussion among participants.
