On Wednesday March 15, 2023, at 11:00-14:00, a Bioeconomy Info Day was held, in the “Konstantinos Karamanlis” amphitheater on the ground floor of the Regional Administration of Western Macedonia, in ZEP Kozani.
The Info day was organized by the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia-CluBE, under the auspices of the Rural Development Department of Western Macedonia, with the support of the Regional Branch of Western Macedonia of theGeotechnical Chamber of Greece (GEOT.E.E./P.D.M.), in the context of the European project BIOTRANSFORM of the Horizon Europe program funded by the European Union.
BIOTRANSFORM aims to accelerate the transition from the linear economy and linear fossil-based systems to the circular bioeconomy and circular bio-based systems. CluBE participates in the project, in a total of 10 partners, from 8 European countries.
The Info day was attended by policy-makers and business representatives of the Region of Western Macedonia as well as members of research and educational institutions. As part of the info day, an open discussion was held regarding the ways in which the policy makers and the stakeholders of Western Macedonia can benefit practically from the specific project, as well as regarding the bioeconomy development prospects in the Region. The participants also took part in a short survey related to the bioeconomy.
